Daytona International Speedway
1801 W. International Speedway
Daytona Beach, FL 32114

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing."

In addition to the twice annual visits by the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Daytona hosts a multitude of events and sanctioning bodies on both the track's 2.5-mile superspeedway and 3.56-mile infield road course. Stock cars, motorcycles, sports cars and go-karts are just a few of the various types of competition Daytona hosts every year.

Fans can also visit the DAYTONA 500 EXPERIENCE while here for Speedweeks. The DAYTONA 500 EXPERIENCE, "The Ultimate Motorsports Attraction," is a highly interactive multi-million-dollar entertainment facility designed to broaden the entertainment and educational experience for visitors of all ages -- whether or not they are racing fans.

Guests of The DAYTONA 500 EXPERIENCE don't want to miss a chance to experience ACCELERATION ALLEY to compete against each other in 80-percent scale stock cars. DAYTONA DREAM LAPS is a motion simulator ride that places guests behind the wheel in a virtual Daytona 500 race. Inside the Coca-Cola IMAX Theatre, "NASCAR 3D: The IMAX Experience" and "Daytona 500: The Movie" give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the Daytona 500 and NASCAR. The 16-Second Pit Stop Challenge allows visitors the opportunity to be a pit-crew member in a timed pit stop. In addition, guests can hop aboard a Speedway Tour, visit the Daytona Speedplay game center, Pit Shop souvenir and gift shop, 4th Turn Grill snack bar, and the Daytona Beach Area Welcome Center.

    AFTER THE RACE

After the race, for the fastest and least congested routes north, south and west of the Speedway, the Police Department and Highway Patrol suggest that you access Interstate 95 or Interstate 4 by going east from the Speedway to U.S. 1. From U.S. 1 you can access I-95 or I-4 as follows:

    • U.S. 1 NORTHBOUND TO:
I-95 just north of Ormond Beach (approx. 11 miles) I-95 just north of Bunnell (approx. 27 miles) I-95 at St. Augustine (approx. 45 miles) U.S. 1 intersects I-95 north at all three of the above locations. We recommend you stay on U.S. 1 north all the way to St. Augustine then take I-95 north at St. Augustine.
    • U.S. 1 SOUTHBOUND TO:
SR 44 in New Smyrna Beach (then 15 miles to I-4 west) SR 442 in Edgewater (then 5 miles to I-95 south) To get to U.S 1, go east from the Speedway to Ridgewood Avenue. (Ridgewood Ave. is U.S. 1)
NOTE: I-4 is under construction between Orlando and Daytona Beach and I-95 is under construction south of Jacksonville and around Daytona Beach. Some delays may be experienced and we recommend leaving earlier than planned to avoid delays associated with the construction.
